BOWERS AND TACKETT TIE FOR TAFF!

As you may have heard, the recent TAFF race ended in a dead heat, with each of the candidates receiving 72 first-place votes. There was one write-in vote for Bob Pavlat. Hold Over Funds received no first votes. So, during a meeting of the European and American Administrators – via trans-Atlantic phone – it was decided that there were sufficient funds to send both Bill Bowers and Roy Tackett to the British S-F Convention in the spring. Both winners were phoned the happy news on New Year's Day and found the situation quite acceptable. On behalf of the winners, we want to thank all of you who made this possible by voting and/or donating.

THE FOLLOWING PERSONS, CLUBS AND CONVENTIONS GAVE TAFF THEIR SUPPORT. NOT ALL OF THEM VOTED, BUT ALL OF THEM DONATED MONEY, TIME OR WORK – OR ALL THREE.

ANNOUNCING THE TAFF PUBLISHING PROJECT

Thanks to LASFS, WESTERCON and your outgoing American Administrators, a special Publishing Project has been established – separate from the TAFF Trip Fund

The purpose of this Project is to keep TAFF Trip Reports in print, to reprint those that are out of print, and to publish those that were written but never published, or were partially or wholly printed serially in fanzines but never in complete "book" form.

Currently available is the reprint of Ron Ellik’s SQUIRREL'S TAIL at $1.25 a copy. Send your order for this item to the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society (LASFS), 11360 Ventura Boulevard, Studio City, CA 91604, U.S.A.

Bob Madle's A FAKE FAN IN LONDON is on stencil and will be available from LASFS soon. Watch for announcements in the fan press.

Money from the sale of these various trip reports will be used to publish more TAFF trip reports. In short, we hope to make it a self-sustaining project and keep it going for as long as possible. If the project succeeds eventually in making a profit, it will be split as follows: 80% to TAFF, 20% to LASFS. You can help make it work by buying everything we publish for the Project.

THE NEXT TAFF CAMPAIGN to elect a European fan to come to an American convention will be conducted by your current TAFF administrators:
