UK fan Martin Tudor, whose fanzines include Critical Wave (with Steve Green) and Empties, was the 1996 TAFF winner and attended both L.A.con III in Anaheim, California, the 1996 Worldcon, and Corflu Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada. Although his trip was fraught with unprecedented administrative problems, he wrote and published four instalments of Have Bag, Will Travel while still touring the USA. The collected edition, with three further chapters (including an afterword detailing the above-mentioned problems), appeared in 1998 as an A5 booklet with cover and interior art by Dave Hicks.
The present Ansible Editions ebook was released on 11 March 2023. Cover and selected interior art by Dave Hicks from the 1996 edition. 27,500 words.
