A classic piece of fanwriting as it first appeared: Walt Willis’s account of his fandom-funded trip to Chicon II, the 1952 World SF Convention, as published in Lee Hoffman’s Quandry #27/28 in December 1952. Walt Willis later revised and greatly expanded this report (with both preliminary material and a great deal about his US travels after Chicon II) as The Harp Stateside, but this first version also has much charm. The text was placed online at Fanac.org and formatted for this edition by David Langford.
First published as an Ansible Editions ebook for the TAFF site in May 2017. 20,000 words.
